- 500g chicken breast, sliced thinly
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 cucumber, grated
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Marinate chicken with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and lemon juice for 15 minutes.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
- Mix Greek yogurt with grated cucumber and minced garlic to make tzatziki sauce.
- Warm pita breads in a pan or oven.
- Assemble gyros by placing chicken, tomato, red onion, and tzatziki in the pita.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- You can add lettuce or other fresh veggies if desired.
- For extra flavor, grill the chicken instead of pan-frying.
- Leftover chicken can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
