Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast, sliced thinly
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 cucumber, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and lemon juice for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan over medium-high heat and cook chicken for 5-7 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  3. Mix Greek yogurt with grated cucumber and minced garlic to make tzatziki sauce.
  4. Warm pita breads in a pan or oven.
  5. Assemble gyros by placing chicken, tomato, red onion, and tzatziki in the pita.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can add lettuce or other fresh veggies if desired.
  • For extra flavor, grill the chicken instead of pan-frying.
