Description

Classic soft and chewy snickerdoodles with a cinnamon-sugar coating.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar (for rolling)
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
  6. Combine 3 tbsp sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture, and place on baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Do not overbake for soft cookies.
