Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar (for rolling)
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
- Combine 3 tbsp sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls, roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Do not overbake for soft cookies.
- Store in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
- Dough can be chilled for easier handling.
